Your voice is important

People have strong feelings about our town and the vision for its future. Any changes should maintain the quality of life in Hudson. Here are a few questions that will help us include you in co-planning Hudson. You may add anything that you feel like adding.

1. How many years have you lived in Hudson?
2. What are the things that contribute most to your quality of life living here in Hudson?
3. If you had a magic wand and could change anything in Hudson, what would it be?
4. What would maintain or improve your quality of life in Hudson?
5. Thinking  in terms of seasonal issues (winter snow clearing, summer programs, etc...) are there additional elements that contribute to quality of life in Hudson?
6. What is your number one priority for the town?
7. Anything else you would like to add?

    1. Have lived here 17 years

    2. A well-organized community centre, commitment to maintaining not just roads & sidewalks, but our environmental heritage ( Sandy Beach, Pine Lake, our parks & nature trails) . Also supporting the arts as well ( HVT and our numerous festivals and arts organizations). Also a firm commitment to our great business community, particularly our restaurants, health food stores & other local retailers.

    3. I would collect the taxes from the many millionaire and billionaire property owners who have hidden for years. And I would include the interest that they owe Hudson-us-as a collective. I would also watch for overly Machiavellian types running for office …more transparency. This money would allow us to make the infrastructure changes we need (roads, sidewalks, sewers, water treatment plant etc.)

Skipping to #6, I want to see more taxes collected from this who have been avoiding paying for years… so we can fix our infrastructure challenges.

Could I please have a sign for my lawn? Thanks!

Just text me at 514 546 4146 to let me know how to get a sign.

    1) Ten years

    2) Sense of community, small town feel…

    3) Water and sewage that conforms to the 21st century

    4) See number 3 …

5)I think snow clearing in Hudson is actually pretty good. Leaf and branch pick up could be a little more frequent

    6) At the risk of repeating myself, sewage needs to be completed town wide and then the roads need to be re-surfaced completely so as to make it more inviting for people to visit the town. Here is a link that the town should have a look at. By making this investment, the whole town can be repaired with a minimum of environmental impact and inconvenience to town residents. The equipment could then be leased to other communities to recoup the cost.

    7) From personal experience, the town needs to be more business friendly and offer incentives for opening and maintaining businesses in Hudson rather than penalizing and over taxing them. My wife and I have basically given up the idea of opening a small business in Hudson due to all the hoops that we would have to jump through and the high cost. When we asked about incentives and why we should invest, we were basically told that that is the way it is and there are no incentives…disheartening to say the least. All the best in the upcoming election….
